My Little Pony, 2.0

I had My Little Ponies as a kid. They have a newer version now, but seeing as I've been blessed with four boys we don't see many of them around this house. I was asked to make some cookies with three specific ponies a few weeks ago. It was fun!

Damask Wedding Cake

My sweet cousin Ashley got hitched this past week. She asked me to do her cake. Her main directions were that she wanted a black and white damask pattern with a lime green layer and black ribbon.

The bow was my addition. They loved the cake.

The cake was a caramel cake with browned-butter caramel filling and a buttercream finish. The damask pattern was hand piped in royal icing.

Congratulations Ashley and BJ!

Elephant Baby Shower cookies

A sweet neighbor asked me to make cookies for her baby shower this coming Saturday. She asked for elephant cookies, similar to these she had seen online. I had five or six cutters she could choose from, and she chose a slightly different elephant shape. I made a few changes to the sample cookie she liked, and she loved how they turned out.

Happy baby shower Aubrey!

Tangled

A co-worker of my husband's asked me to do their little girl's birthday cake again this year. Last year I made her a giraffe smash cake for her first birthday. This year, it was a Tangled cake.

The cake was chocolate with a buttercream filling. It is finished entirely in buttercream icing. I used a technique called a buttercream transfer for Rapunzel.

Happy Birthday Brynnlee!

Sock Monkey Birthday

My husband's cousin's daughter (got that? LOL) asked me to make a sock monkey cake for her little boy's first birthday. Well, two cakes actually. One for him to smash and one for everyone else to eat. It was a fun project.

The cake was marble on the bottom with Bavarian cream filling, and chocolate on top with the same filling. It was finished in fondant.

The smash cake was half chocolate and half marble cake, with buttercream filling. It was finished in buttercream icing with fondant decorations.

Happy Birthday Boston!

Raindow Wedding Cake

My cousin and his partner had their commitment ceremony this past weekend. I was asked to make the cake. It was definitely the most colorful cake I've done yet!
The cake was marble cake with Bavarian cream filling, finished with buttercream icing and fondant.

Congrats Dru and Chad.

CTR cake

My son, Daniel, was baptized a member of our church yesterday. We had a luncheon after the baptism, so I made him a cake. It was a marble cake with buttercream finish and fondant decoration.

Congratulations buddy, so proud of you!
